Narrative-driven writing exploring the stories we live before we know how to tell them.

I’m a writer and photographer based in Canada, working across editorial features, brand storytelling and fiction. My work is interested in clarity, restraint and the stories we live between routine and possibility. Alongside longer-form creative projects, I collaborate selectively with publications and brands that value storytelling and the lasting impression it leaves.

Selected Work

Learning-to-Surf-with-Crocodiles-Playa-Tamarindo-Costa-Rica

A narrative piece on fear, risk, and discovery, while learning to surf in Costa Rica’s crocodile-infested waters.

Learning to Surf with Crocodiles

A narrative piece on anxiety, independence, and learning to stay present while moving through unfamiliar places.

Travelling Alone for the First Time

A narrative piece about doubt, resolve, and discovering how far you can go when you keep moving.

Hiking Mirador Las Torres

Don’t Pick a Photography Niche. Do This Instead.

A reflective essay on creative identity, attention, and finding direction by listening more closely to what draws us in.

Books

A short story collection tracing youth, memory and the return to a childhood community.

The first half of the collection depicts Trent's life growing up beside Fourteen Mile Creek. The stories range from Trent's youth up until his early twenties, as he ventures into the forest, searches for birds of prey, builds forts and drinks alcohol for the first time. The second half of the collection presents Trent's experience with the passing of an old, elementary school friend. After not seeing any of his old friends in almost ten years, Trent chronicles his return to his past life and tries to figure out his place in all of it.

Longer Work

I’m currently working on a novel about anxiety, unlived dreams, and what it means to step toward the water instead of away from it.
