Professional Headshots Oakville - What to Expect

If there’s one type of photography that’s worth investing in for both your personal and business brand, it’s professional headshots. Sure, you can snap a decent looking headshot with your iPhone these days (anything’s better than grainy looking webcam headshots), but, if you really want to make a good first impression on your resume, LinkedIn profile or website, a high quality professional headshot goes a long way. Thankfully, getting a professional headshot taken is a fairly quick process and, unlike other types of commercial photography, it’s relatively inexpensive. In this article, I’m going to breakdown my process for professional headshots in Oakville and the surrounding area, including Burlington, Toronto, Hamilton and Mississauga, and give you a run down of what you can expect throughout your professional headshot session and experience.

The Professional Headshot Session

For my professional headshot photography photoshoots, I charge a session fee of $250. This session fee includes up to a 60 minute photoshoot, and as many outfit changes / looks that you can fit into that time. I will also bring a professional portrait lighting setup (in case professional lighting is required), as well as a white and black standard background to give your headshots a clean, classic look. Headshots can also be taken using a background in your office space if desired. I can also rent different coloured / textured backdrops for your headshot session, however this will require an additional charge.

During the session, we’ll snap as many photos as you’d like in a variety of different poses to ensure we capture a number of images that meet your expectations. If you have multiple people at your office or have friends who would like headshots, they can all come take photos as well. The session fee covers multiple different people taking professional headshots. This can be a great opportunity for small teams to all get together for an hour and capture consistent, high quality professional headshots for your brand’s website, presentations and other marketing material.

Please note, all professional headshot photography sessions must be done on-site at the client’s office, or at another specified location. If a studio rental is required, an additional fee may be applied.

Image Selection & Post Production

Once the professional headshot session has been completed, I will send you an online gallery within a week after the shoot containing the best headshot images from your session. Please note, the images will not be edited at this point. You (and your team if they had photos taken) will then select which image(s) you’d like to purchase. Each selected image costs $50. All purchased photos include standard licensing for personal use, as well as use on your company’s website and marketing materials. Extended licensing costs extra (digital & print advertising, packaging, etc.)

Once you have confirmed which images you’d like to purchase, I will professionally edit them, and then transfer the high resolution digital JPEG files to you. This process generally takes 2-3 weeks. And, just like that, you’ll be able to easily add them to your resume, LinkedIn profile, website and / or marketing materials, and make a truly strong first impression!
